Olivia Munn Got a Perm to Add Body and Texture to Her Naturally Flat Hair

Looking at Olivia Munn‘s hair, you wouldn’t believe that she has a problem with it. It’s long, luscious, and always on point. But like many of us with thick and full hair, the 37-year-old actress struggles with adding body and texture to it, unless she’s being worked on by an A-list, part-magic hairstylist. So to liven up her naturally flat hair, Munn did the first thing she thought of: She got a perm.

The “X-Men” actress documented her perm process on her Instagram story, where she revealed that she was adding a “permanent wave” to her hair to give it some much-needed body. “My hair is so thick and heavy so I have a hard time getting body into it,” Munn wrote on a selfie of her stick-straight hair. “Sooo I’m putting in my first permanent wave by @bykileyfitz. Wish me luck!!”

The rest of Munn’s stories featured videos of Kiley Fitzgerald (who has also done the perms of stars like Emma Stone and Jaime King) twisting Munn’s wet, lightly trimmed hair in orange bendy rollers. “Doesn’t hurt,” Munn sarcastically captioned video of her wincing from Fitzgerald tightly winding her hair around a roller.

After a good hour of pain, Munn showed Fitzgerald dousing her hair a perm solution (usually an ammonium thioglycolate that restructures the hair) before blotting it with a paper towel and finishing with a neutralizer, which sets the new shape. “Feels like we’re pretty much in a relationship now, huh Kiley?” Munn said, teasing about the amount of time she spent at the salon.

The big reveal showed Munn with tightly wound brunette ringlets, which were later dried and lightly brushed through to show her with beachy, textured hair. However, Munn made sure to note that her just-came-from-the-beach locks weren’t the final look. To see Munn’s finished hair, fans will have to wait two days when Munn will shampoo it, making it look more natural. To say that we’re excited to see the final look is an understatement.

Olivia Munn Squashes Lip Injections Rumors by Wiping Off Her ‘Luscious Lips’

Sorry, trolls. Olivia Munn‘s lips are 100-percent real. But she did have the help of some bomb-ass lipstick. On Tuesday, the 37-year-old actress was flooded with Instagram comments accusing her of receiving lip injections after she stepped out at CFDA, Variety, and WWD’s Runway to Red Carpet luncheon with significantly larger lips.

Turns out, the joke is on trolls, as Munn’s plumper-than-usual pout was the work of makeup—not cosmetic fillers. Munn squashed the plastic surgery rumors when she posted an Instagram story after the event of her wiping off her lips with a tissue in a car on the way to the airport.

The video showed Munn taking a Kleenex to half her lips to show her followers the drastic difference between her bare and done-up lips. Munn finished by wiping off her lips entirely and sharing a makeup-free video of her saying bye to her “luscious lips.”

If you’re looking to cop Munn’s optical-illusion lips, the actress’s makeup artist, Mary Phillips, shared her tutorial on Instagram. The secret is simple, really. Phillips mixed two colors from Nudestix’s Love Me Nudes palette, “Mystic” and “Rose,” and painted them on Munn’s lips to give her an exaggerated pout that highlighted her eyes.

If we learned anything from the Munn Lip-Gate Scandal of 2018, it’s that you should never underestimate the power of a good lipstick.

Olivia Munn Defends Kate Middleton Amid Backlash Over BAFTAs Green Dress

Kate Middleton might be known as a fashion inspiration, but not everyone is a fan of her latest look. On Sunday, The Duchess of Cambridge came under fire for wearing green instead of black in support of Time’s Up at the 2018 BAFTA Awards. The 36-year-old—who, per royal protocol, is forced to remain politically neutral—was slammed and accused of being “anti-feminist” for her outfit choice.

Though Middleton faced major backlash, she found the support of one of Time’s Up’s most prominent leaders, Olivia Munn, who perfectly explained why the anti-sexism and anti-harassment movement means more than a dress color.

After Middleton came under fire, Munn took to Twitter to clarify that Time’s Up’s black dress code—which was also seen at the 2018 Golden Globe Awards—isn’t mean to “ostracize or control.” The actress also slammed those who reduced Time’s Up to a dress color.

“The Times Up dress code suggestions should not be used to ostracize or control. What we stand for & what we fight for matters more than the color of our dress,” Munn tweeted.

Munn ended her tweet by explaining that Middleton wearing green does not mean that she isn’t in support of Time’s Up or gender equality.

“I have a hard time believing that the Duchess of Cambridge doesn’t stand beside us just because she was wearing green,” she tweeted.

There is no exact way to exemplify feminism, as comedian Iliza Shlesinger pointed out in a retweet. The criticism over Middleton wearing green goes against the freedom of choice and overshadows what Time’s Up really represents. Good on Munn for setting everyone’s minds back to what really matters.

Olivia Munn Drinks Apple Cider Vinegar to Slim Down Overnight Before Red Carpets

As a red carpet veteran, Olivia Munn knows a lot goes into looking camera-ready on the big day. So when the 37-year-old actress was prepping for the 2018 SAG Awards on Sunday night, she decided to test out a trick that she heard would help her slim down overnight: taking shots of apple cider vinegar.

The “X-Men: Apocalypse” star spilled her tip in an interview with E! News, where she revealed that she drank two shots of apple cider vinegar in the morning and night for a few days before hitting the red carpet. “I start doing [apple cider vinegar] in the morning and the night because they say it’s supposed to help you slim down,” Munn said.

Though there is ample scientific evidence that proves that acetic acid, a compound found in apple cider vinegar, can help control blood sugar (and affect weight loss overtime), there is little to no proof that ACV is a fast and easy weight-loss ingredient—something Munn quickly learned. “I eat rocky road late at night and I think if I take an apple cider vinegar shot, it [balances me out]. It doesn’t,” Munn said.

While ACV has tons of proven health benefits, including strengthening your hair and detoxifying your mouth, we do not recommend using as an instant weight-loss tool—something we’re pretty sure doesn’t exist no matter how hard you look. Instead, we recommend taking on the same mindset as Munn and accepting your body for the way it is. “I tell myself, ‘Eh. It’s fine. I’m an actress. I’m not a model,’” Munn said. “I’m supposed to look more relatable.”

Olivia Munn’s Masseuse Thought She Was Pregnant Because of All the Holiday Food She Ate

If you follow Olivia Munn on Instagram, you know that she lived it up this weekend with actress pals, Eva Longoria and Gabrielle Union. She munched on tons of holiday food (courtesy of Longoria), played with dogs (courtesy of Union), went to brunch, and ate chips and salsa from her seaside balcony.

When she returned to reality after the holiday, she was met with a rude awakening from her masseuse who thought she was pregnant because of all the food she ate over the weekend. (Can we let the girl live?) The 37-year-old actress posted about the experience on her Instagram story in which she revealed that her masseuse pointed at her stomach mid-massage and asked the simple question, “Baby?”

After an awkward pause, Munn explained that she wasn’t pregnant but immensely satisfied from all the food she consumed over the holiday. She also playfully threw Longoria under the bus for cooking so many delicious meals. “I guess I’ll start my New Year’s diet today,” she wrote.

Of course, there’s no reason for Munn to go on a diet. If she wants to gorge on delicious holiday food during her holiday break (like the rest of the world did), so be it. We get that the masseuse didn’t mean any harm, but asking Munn if she was pregnant a low-key way of body-shaming her. On another note, Munn just made us desperately want to try Longoria’s cooking.
