Paris Jackson Schools Troll Who Said Her Dad Would Be ‘Upset’ by Her Smoking Weed

Paris Jackson will blaze up however and whenever she likes, thank you very much. The 20-year-old model recently shut down critics who shamed her for smoking weed, including one who said that her late father, Michael Jackson, would be “upset” if he knew of her marijuana habits. (Cue the eye rolls.)

The backlash began on Sunday when the “Gringo” star posted a Twitter video of her jokingly lighting a branch of marijuana straight from her mouth. The video featured Jackson, filtered with fiery devil horns, taking a lighter to a small branch of weed dangling from her mouth. “Should I smoke it like like this,” she captioned the video.

The video sparked a heated reaction from anti-weed enthusiasts, who criticized Jackson for smoking in front of her many young, impressionable followers. One troll, who crossed the line, brought up Jackson’s dad, predicting that the pop star would be “upset” if he knew that Jackson smoked.

When Jackson’s fans came to her defense, the troll explained that she was trying to be the parental “voice” that Jackson no longer has. That’s when Jackson stepped in to shut her down. “i think i’m doing pretty ok considering the circumstances,” she tweeted.

However, that wasn’t the only weed-related Twitter drama that Jackson encountered. Soon after, another troll linked a Vogue Australia article in which she suggested that she wanted to be a role model for her young fans. “I already have many young girls looking up to me and I want to be something their parents are OK with them looking up to,” she said.

After linking the article, the troll then suggested that Jackson was a hypocrite for teaching her followers that it was OK to smoke weed.  That’s when Jackson fought back by claiming that she knows several parents who rely on marijuana to benefit their children. She also called out common pharmaceutical drugs, which she suggested weren’t better or were even worse than pot.

Whether or not Jackson’s claims are true, one thing is certain: You don’t come between Jackson and her father, especially if it has to do with weed. Jackson already has parents, and they’re not anonymous, weed-shaming trolls on the internet.

Paris Jackson Calls Out Fans for Lightening and Darkening Her Skin Color

As a model, Paris Jackson is likely used to having her face and body altered by Photoshop. But she never expected the editing to be done by her own fans. On Wednesday, the 19-year-old took to Twitter to slam fans who lighten and darken her skin to make her look more white and black.

Jackson began her rant by explaining to her fans that, while she loves seeing their edits, she doesn’t appreciate when they try to erase her mixed heritage by white-washing her olive-toned skin or making her look more dark than she is.

“i appreciate everything y’all make for me, i enjoy every single edit i see,” she tweeted. “but please stop lightening my skin to make me look more white. and please stop darkening my skin to make me look more mixed.

Jackson has long defended her mixed background against whose who try to claim that she isn’t part-black because of her blonde hair and blue eyes. Jackson’s mother, Debbie Rowe, is white, while her father, Michael Jackson, was African-American. “I consider myself black,” she told Rolling Stone in 2017.

The last par of Jackson’s tweet suggested that she wasn’t always happy with her skin color, but has grown to embrace. She encouraged fans to do the same and stop with the Photoshop. “i am what i am. i’m aware of what i look like and i finally happy with it,” she wrote.

Photoshop, under any circumstances, is never OK, especially if you’re drastically editing someone’s appearance. Changing someone’s skin color enters an even more dangerous territory. We hope fans take Jackson’s word to heart and leave her skin color as is. She’s accepted it, so they should too.

Paris Jackson’s Oscars Dress Was a Subtle Tribute to Her Dad, and We’re Crying

It’s been almost a decade since Paris Jackson‘s dad, Michael Jackson, suddenly passed away from a heart attack. But her bond with him has never been stronger. On Sunday, the 19-year-old model attended Vanity Fair‘s Oscars after-party wearing a dress dedicated to her late father, and we can’t stop crying.

Paris turned heads on the red carpet in a show-stopping green Versace bodysuit with a long chiffon train, a crocheted, jewel-studded bodice, and bedazzled shoulder pads showing off her many arm and torso tattoos. The teenager sported her signature smokey eye, highlighting her piercing blue eyes, and kept her buttery blond hair in a bouncy high ponytail.

Immediately, fans compared Paris’s look to Tinker Bell from “Peter Pan,” but there might’ve been a reason behind her fairytale-esque outfit. As many fans pointed out, “Tinker Bell” was a term of endearment that her father, who imagined himself as Peter Pan, used to call her as his only daughter.

The characters had such an impact on Paris that she tattooed “FAITH, TRUST AND PIXIE DUST” on her collarbone, which nods to the Disney movie’s fascination with magic and pixies (what Tinkerbell was.) Though the tribute isn’t confirmed, Paris suggested that the speculation was true with her Instagram caption for the outfit.

“Take the path that moonbeams make
If the moon is still awake
You’ll see him wink his eye.”

The lines are lyrics from the “Peter Pan” song, “You Can Fly.” (BRB as we cry.) Of course, we weren’t the only ones who noticed the tribute. Many fans tweeted Paris’s pictures with captions on how her father would be “proud of his Tinker Bell.”

We’re sure that Tinker Bell and Peter Pan would also be proud, and that Paris’s dad is watching over her from heaven, or Neverland, or wherever he is.
